Virtual Tea Time [10]: Getting to Know You

There’s nothing like a little vacation to reboot the brain. As I mentioned on Wednesday, I was feeling a wee burnt out from life in general; having a week off was just what I needed!  The mental detox seems to have completely reinstated my passion for blogging as well, and I have a ton of fun posts lined up over the next new weeks!

Strawberry Banana Oats with Sunbutter

Currently eating: Strawberry Banana Oats + Sunbutter!

Spending time with friends this week made me realize how much I love connecting with people; be it face-to-face or virtual. Even though I make an effort to be candid and open with all of you, there are many things I’m sure you don’t know about me. I’m planning on updating my ‘About’ page soon, and I would love any ideas for what I should include (I’m not the best at talking about myself). It goes both ways though; I want to get to know you too! Arman’s Spill it Sundays suggest some great ice breakers to help us get to know one another. This week’s topic is one of my favourites; book! Here, I’ll go first. Take this opportunity to fill up your cup of tea; I could talk about books for hours!

Rooibos Tea

Currently sipping: PC Rooibos Tea

I’ve been reading for as long as I can remember (seriously, some of my earliest memories involve reading) and I think my taste in literature has evolved some. When I was younger I couldn’t get enough of The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley (will they solve the crime?! Oh the suspense!) Later I somehow got lured into The Clique series. I’m glad to say those days are behind me.

Favourite Books Some of my favourites: Eating Animals, She’s Come Undone, Room, The Four Agreements, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, The Alchemist, The Glass Castle, Dearie, The Pillars of the Earth, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I am a bit fanatical about books. When I say a bit I mean a lot. I keep a Word document in my Dropbox of all the books I’ve read (including a legend describing if I liked it or not); that way I have access to it at all times in case someone brings up books. Take this as your warning; speak the word book, novel, story, or any of its derivatives and be prepared to throw all other conversation out the window.

I hope the rest of your Sunday treats you well! No matter how the weekend is going, these links are sure to please: 5 Must Read Links

  1. That Eating Animals book looks intriguing- I’ll need to see to add it to my kindle haha!

Harry Potter fan? Legend. Goblet of Fire was my second favourite. The Azkaban one still takes the (pumpkin pastie) cake as my favourite.

  2. Im pretty sure one of the best things I did this month was make an account on GoodReads so I can track which books I’ve read and which ones I want to read ;-) I’m such a book person! I’ve read Eating Animals, The Pillars of the Earth and Room and they were all amazing. I need to re-read Eating Animals though, it’s been a few years!

  3. So glad your vacation was what you needed. I feel the same way, only that I need one haha. Feeling very burned out and tired lately! Although I’m sure my life is nothing compared to yours at the moment.

Oh books- I could talk for hours on those as well! I love Harry Potter, in an almost obsessive kind of way! I loved Eating Animals too. Been meaning to read Dearie, but it’s always checked out of the library when I want it! Sad day.

And thanks for linking to my hempy halvah :)

  4. Oooh I LOVE books too! Reading is my happy time =D
We have some of the same favourite books! Love it!
I’m reading the Divergent series right now… it’s kind of tween-fluff, but it’s a nice break from some heavier stuff I read sometimes.
Wow, we could totally just talk for hours about books I bet ;p
Hmmm I’m not sure what you should include in your about me page. I need to update mine as well.

  5. I haven’t read Ken Follett yet but need to! Your breakfast… amazing.

I’m really into Sarah Jio’s books right now. And I have to read Allegiant but am waiting for my friend to finish it up!

I use Goodreads to track all my books!
