Virtual Tea Time [15]: Food, Fun, Firemen, and Birthdays

Virtual Tea Time

You know those times where you have absolutely nothing interesting to recount? Well, today this isn’t one of those days :P I was lucky enough to live it up for a few days in my hometown; here is what I got up to:

Wednesday VTT15 Wednesday

I arrived from Kingston on Wednesday afternoon and met my Mom downtown for dinner and a show! We dined at Kho San Road (the best restaurant meal I’ve had in a while!), and went to see the musical Chicago. Elvis Stojko was part of the cast; who knew a figure skating/kung-fu champion could sing so well?! After a night full of fun, we arrived home to a strange smell in our house. Long story short, we got a visit from the fire department and 12 firefighters. I’m not complaining; I love a man in a uniform :P

Thursday

VTT15 Thursday

I took a drive to Burlington to meet Kimmy in real life (we host Healthy Vegan Fridays together), and were also joined by Sarina! We enjoyed a delicious meal at Lettuce Love Cafe (I had the Tomato Protein Soup, Caesar Salad, and a smoothie) before checking out Kelly’s Bake Shoppe.

Friday

I’m going to sound like a Grandma when I say this, but really my only accomplishment Friday was crocheting a hat. I might have also sat under a blanket and read.

Saturday

VTT15 Saturday

Ok, back to the fun! I spent the better part of Saturday at the Toronto Yoga Conference soaking in all things inspiring and pranic. I geeked out a bit when learning from masters like Rodney & Colleen Yee, Jason Crandell, and the cutie above Mr. Leslie Kaminoff (whom I may or may not have a bit of a crush on   ) I later met up with the lovely Gabby, and we bonded over lunch at Cruda Cafe in St. Lawrence Market, Giddy YoYo chocolate bars, and tea.

Sunday

Today I hopped a bus back to reality (aka Kingston). I have my final week of classes coming up this week, which is both awesome and terrifying 8O Today also happens to be the birthday of two of my most favourite geeks in the world; my brothers (picture circa 1997)!

Bill and Jack

Being busy, busy engineering students, B and J skipped out on extravagant birthday affairs, but I couldn’t let this birthday pass them by without icing them… with cupcakes!

  1. I had absolutely no idea that Elvis Stojko was still around. Or that he could sing. That is pretty fantastic.
