Virtual Tea Time
Happy belated Virtual Tea Time!
How was your long-weekend? Mine was pretty swell; I’m getting the hang of this ‘retired student’ thing. A very sunny Saturday beckoned me for a long walk, and although it was too cold to enjoy reading my book by the waterfront I did snap some pretty pictures!
Flowers are in bloom, plastic eggs are growing on trees, the Market is open, and the lake is finally thawed! As much as I love long walks, my brain is still begging to be stimulated with new knowledge, so I’ve made it my mission to master HTML/CSS and Photoshop this summer. It’s amazing how much information is available out there!
Easter used to be a big food holiday for my family. We would often go to church together, enjoy a meal, and slip into sugar comas together. This year, however, we spent the weekend a bit differently. My parents came to help move my brothers out of residence on Sunday morning, and in the interest of beating the traffic, left shortly after our un-conventional Easter lunch at Sima Sushi. Despite the brevity of our visits these days, I love spending time with my family.
This is a perfect segue into Spill It Sundays since this week’s theme is family! My immediate family consists of Mom and Dad and twin brothers B & J. I’m the oldest, although the bros and I often get mistaken for triplets. I can’t even begin to explain how much my family means to me; they have stuck with my through some of the most difficult events in my life, and have helped facilitate the best ones. We have done some very memorable things together: summers at the cottage, re-shingling roofs, urban hikes, and our new annual Christmas gift exchange. I value them so much.
I loved Arman’s challenge to come up with a TV show family doppleganger! This is what I came up with:
Genius ‘tweeb’ brothers, an awesome crime-fighting big sister, and a pair of supportive parents; it doesn’t get more similar than that! Thanks for sitting down for your weekly cup of tea with me! Here are five links worth a read:
